Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas implementasi sistem monitoring jaringan berbasis Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) menggunakan platform Cacti di Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Djuanda. Sebelum implementasi, jaringan di fakultas tersebut sering mengalami masalah seperti downtime, kinerja yang tidak optimal, dan ancaman keamanan. Setelah implementasi, data kinerja jaringan dikumpulkan dan dianalisis untuk menilai peningkatan kinerja dan efektivitas sistem monitoring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem monitoring berbasis SNMP dengan Cacti secara signifikan meningkatkan kinerja jaringan, mengurangi downtime, dan mempercepat penanganan ancaman keamanan. Meskipun demikian, beberapa kendala seperti penurunan kinerja pada beban tinggi dan kebutuhan pengetahuan teknis menjadi tantangan yang harus diatasi.
