Background - In the era of globalization and digitalization, the use of information technology has become an
integral part in various fields, including the education sector. One of the important processes in education
administration is the registration of new students. This process is usually done manually, which often requires a lot
of time, money and effort. In addition, manual methods tend to be prone to data recording errors, limited
accessibility and lack of transparency. These constraints are even more pronounced in areas that have limited
modern technology infrastructure, such as areas with slow internet networks or limited sophisticated devices.
Schools in these areas need digital solutions that are simple, efficient and accessible. One solution that can be
implemented is the utilization of Wireless technology.
Purpose - This research aims to develop and implement a WAP-based Information System that supports the
digitization of the new student registration process. The main objectives of this research are: Improving the
Efficiency of the Enrollment Process, Streamlining Enrollment Access, Improving Data Accuracy and
Management, Simplifying School Administration, and Supporting Digital Transformation in Educational Institutions.
methodology - This research uses a structured methodology to develop and implement a WAP-based
Information System to digitize the new student registration process. The following are details of the research
methodology: Type of Research, System Development Model, Data Collection Techniques, Research Procedures,
Data Analysis Techniques, and Expected Results.
Findings - In the research on WAP-Based Information Systems for the Digitalization of New Student Registration
Processes, several important findings were obtained that demonstrate the positive impact of WAP technology
implementation in accelerating, simplifying, and optimizing the new student registration process in educational
institutions.
Originality - This research has significant originality and value in examining the use of WAP technology in the
new student registration process, as well as its impact on the efficiency, accessibility, and quality of educational
services.
