Juridical Analysis of Stunting Prevention Initiatives in the Framework of Enhancing Child Health Services

Abstract

Background - Indonesia as a country of law has an obligation to protect the rights of citizens, including children's
health which is a fundamental human right. However, stunting as a chronic nutritional problem is still a major
challenge, especially in Cileles Village, Sumedang Regency, Jawa Barat. Stunting has an impact on children's
growth and development and potential, so comprehensive policies are needed to deal with it
Purpose - This study aims to analyze the implementation of stunting prevention efforts based on Presidential
Regulation Number 72 of 2021, as well as identify the obstacles faced in stunting prevention in Cileles Village.
methodology - The research uses a normative juridical approach supported by empirical juridical. Data was
obtained through literature studies and interviews with health workers in Cileles Village. The analysis is carried out
qualitatively by relating legal facts and relevant norms.
Findings - Efforts to combat stunting in Cileles Village have been carried out in accordance with Presidential
Regulation Number 72 of 2021 through increasing access to health services and community education. The
obstacles identified include low public understanding of nutrition, limited access to nutritious food, and lack of
health workers at the village level. In addition, the lack of coordination between agencies is also an obstacle in
policy implementation.
Originality - This research contributes to the development of the concept of legal protection in the context of
stunting control, especially through the approach of integrating central and regional government policies.
