IMPROVING TEACHER PERFORMANCE THROUGH PRINCIPAL SUPERVISION AT AMALIAH 1 VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract

Background - In this paper, the problem is the low performance of teachers in the teaching and learning process.
The solution is through the application of supervision method.Teachers are considered to have improved their
performance, if all teachers can achieve learning targets.
Purpose - The objectives of this research are: 1) To find out the principal's supervision in improving teacher
performance in the teaching and learning process. 2) To find out the process of improving teacher performance in
the teaching and learning process. 3) To find out how much the improvement of teacher performance in the
teaching and learning process.
methodology - The method used is quantitative, namely quantitative method is a research method in which many
numbers are used. Starting from the data collection process to its interpretation
Findings - Supervision can improve and teacher performance in the teaching and learning process at SMK
Amaliah 1. From the results of observations and actions and by reflecting on the problems studied, it shows that
the supervision method has been carried out properly and routinely regarding school administration and
classroom administration. Supervision is carried out once a month by gathering teachers in meetings and
conducting direct reviews to classes when teachers teach. Teacher performance has shown improvement as
evidenced by the achievement of improved teaching and learning outcomes as a result of teacher participation in
seminars, out bonds, and workshops as well as continuing education (college). The implementation of supervision
should not be neglected because it is an important part of the principal's management to achieve educational
goals through improving teacher performance
