THE ROLE OF PENTAHELIX IN MANAGING CIKUNDUL WATER RESOURCES AND BUILDING COMMUNITY AWARENESS

Abstract

Background - Pentahelix collaboration involving government, academia, business sector, community, and media is an important effort in disaster management, especially in Indonesia. (Lina Putri Pasaribu). Exploitation of the Cikundul Watershed (DAS) is increasing rapidly without regard to the impact on the environment, a lot of garbage is carelessly thrown into the river, making the river walls damaged. Lack of public awareness has a huge impact on the cleanliness and health of the environment, especially rivers. Assessing Pentahelix collaboration in reducing the impact of environmental damage, especially rivers in the Cikundul area by utilizing ecobrick waste and identifying supporting and inhibiting factors. This research was conducted based on the results of a seminar held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Cianjur with the theme Temu Pentahelix Citarumania DAS Citarum Middle Segment. This article focuses on analyzing the data collected during the seminar, including presentations from speakers, panel discussion sessions, and participants' responses. In addition, this study uses a literature review approach to supplement data from the media. Pentahelix collaboration in Cikundul began to produce results with the organization of river cleanup volunteers and briefing the community to start disposing of waste through ecobrik. Where the results of ecobrik are used as patches for damaged river walls.
